Noon: Sometimes Great Photos Tell Tragic Stories
"A large span of Interstate 40 in Oklahoma lies in the Arkansas River May 26, 2002, after a barge hit the moorings and pitched as many as 12 vehicles into rain-swollen waters below the heavily traveled highway bridge. Rescue workers were attempting to reach the occupants of half a dozen cars and two tractor trailers that dropped into the river 60 miles south of Tulsa after a 500-foot section of the bridge gave way after being rammed by an empty oil barge."
